Support for Domestic Abuse
The staff at your GP practice are trained to ask about domestic abuse, and specialist workers are available to support you. Your practice is part of IRIS, which means you can speak to doctors, nurses, or other staff if you are being hurt, controlled, or feel unsafe at home - whether by a current or former partner or another family member.
The IRIS service is available to all patients and staff aged 18 or over, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, or background.

How to get help

Contact your GP for advice—they can refer you to the practice’s IRIS Advocate Educator.
